As the Senior Operations Manager for the News Department, I provided primary support to the VP of News & Civic Dialogue to ensure that the newsroom is achieving its operational and strategic priorities aligned to its financial commitments, budgets, and external grant requirements.
Work with Foundations/Corporate Relations team and VP of News on funding proposals including development of project budgets and deliverables.
Conduct regular meetings with VP of News to provide project status reports and identify any areas of spending overage/underage.
Process all News Department invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports, verify coding; review payroll coding; identify re-classes and submit as needed.
Reconciled News Department credit card’s monthly expenses and reviewed the reconciliations of other News managers.
Strategize regularly with Vice President for News and Civic Dialogue about existing positions and how to fund new opportunities.
Train newsroom staff on budget/deliverables management, including setting deliverables and spending timelines.

Oversee the administration of the Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) and development of partnerships with local city and non-profits agencies. Maintain all federal program regulations, their applications, files, employment needs in Philadelphia, available social services, and advocate for older Philadelphians.Identified and develop partnerships with city, state, and community organizations.
Supervise staff of fifteen assigned in day-to-day operations of SCSEP and 114 program participants.
Oversee the administration and program compliance of sixty community partner agencies.
Supervise all data collection and maintain program compliance.
Development of training programs for staff and program participants. 
Supervise and coordinate communication between staff responsible for expediting enrollment, termination, and transition to unsubsidized employment.

As an Assistant Managing Director for the city of Philadelphia, served as liaison and point of contact with local community based and neighborhood organizations, schools, businesses, clergy, block captains, youth groups, and parent organizations through various city anti-violence, neighborhood blight and youth initiatives.
Organized and recruited city and community-based organizations to participate in city-wide events such as city’s public education campaign against youth violence, National Night Out, and gun reduction programs. 
Served as liaison for city department Commissioners and developed partnership with community leaders, schools, block captains, elected officials, clergy leadership, youth groups, and community-based organizations.
Provided oral and written interpretation and translations services to residents, volunteers, and Spanish speaking organizations.
Organized a Neighborhood Coordinating Team (NCT) composed of representatives from local community based, clergy, schools, block captains, police, youth groups, city agencies, and parent organizations.
Oversee NCT’s development and implementation of community agendas focused on reducing youth violence, promoting youth opportunities, empowerment of families and expansion of afterschool programs.
Assisted community leaders and block captains with acquiring resources, cleaning, and developing a maintenance plan for empty lots.
I identified unsafe and imminent dangerous abandoned properties and worked with city’s License and Inspections to schedule cleaning & seal or demolition of properties.
